2 Originaire de Curtilles, petit village près de Lau- sanne en Suisse, Jean Déglon créa en 1921 son atelier de coutellerie à Thiers, capitale française de cette industrie depuis des siècles. Rejoint en 1950 par son fils René, ils développèrent la société en distribuant ses produits – couteaux de table et de cuisine – en France et à l’export. C’est en emménageant dans une usine mo- derne en 1976 que l’activité prend définitivement le tournant de l’industrialisation. Dès 1980, Thierry Déglon (fils de René) déve- loppe alors la société familiale en la spécialisant vers la coutellerie professionnelle. En 2008, la quatrième génération rejoint l’entreprise avec l’arrivée de Moïse Déglon (fils de Thierry), en charge de la direction commerciale. En 2017, il devient Directeur Général de la société, avec pour objectif de renforcer le développement, notamment à l’export, et d’accroître la notoriété des produits de la marque. Native from the small village of Curtilles near Lausanne in Switzerland, Jean Déglon created his own workshop in 1921 in Thiers, the French capital of cutlery. Joined in 1950 by his son, René, they developed together their activity in household cutlery, in France as well as in many countries. It is by moving into its present premises in 1976 that the ac- tivity definitely took the turning point of industrialization. In 1980, Thierry Déglon (René’s son) developed the family com- pany by specializing into professional cutlery. In 2008, the fourth generation joined the company with the arrival of Moïse Déglon (Thierry’s son), in charge of the sales department. In 2017, he became Chief Executive Officer of the company, with the aim of strengthening development, particularly in export markets, and increasing the reputation of the brand's products.
